Jazz Congress Panel: What does New Orleans mean today?

WHERE: The Appel RoomTime Warner Building, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Broadway at 60th St., New York, NY
WHEN: Jan 11, 2018 (4:30-5:30pm)

Jazz at Lincoln Center is hosting a two day event dedicated to bolstering the international jazz community.

Historians have well-considered how the musical cultural life of New Orleans formed the ideal environment for the evolution of jazz. Yet, few musicians have participated in a dialogue about the role the city’s soundscape had in forming a jazz aesthetic. I am honored to be part of a conversation moderated by journalist and NOLA-phile Larry Blumenfeld, alongside Terence Blanchard and Sasha Masakowski, to discuss the importance of New Orleans today.
