About This Past Event: 

​Last July, Evan Christopher's ​sold out evenings at the Duc des Lombards, the best listening room in Paris​, commemorate​d the centenary of Sidney Bechet's 1919 debut in Europe.​ In the nascent days of​ jazz, Bechet opened the music world's eyes to ​the music's possibilities. ​​​Featur​ed artists included ​pianist Philippe Milanta, bassist Sébastien Girardot and drummer Julie Saury. ​
