About This Music:
This is the second studio recording of my acoustic quartet Django à la Créole. I made a significant change from the first recording after a couple seasons of touring that left me wanting more balanced interplay between David Blenkhorn's guitar and myself. Moving him to electric guitar was a shift that allowed us to explore Django's later work, and gave us an even broader pallet of textures and dynamics as well.
The band's sound became even more elegant and we found a niche with venues that programmed chamber music more than "jazz" which suited me just fine. The band took our first trip to Japan, and we had some small successes with larger festivals in France.
I don't know that I agree with it being regarded as a "jazz" album, but it's probably my favorite of our three recordings.
